The Nevada State court received a demand by Manny Pacquiao’s promoter to investigate the outcome of the fight that took place between Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley where, after 7 years, the Philippine was defeated according to the event judges.

In the fight of last Saturday, Bradley was favored with two judges’ cards of 115-113, and only one card with the same scoring went to Manny Pacquiao. The ruling has been considered as one of the worst decisions in the world of boxing, and according to fans that attended the fight, Pacquiao should have won.

With the loss, Pacquiao lost the Welter title of the World Boxing Organization.

Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, said that both fighters and the public had the right to know the truth, and that he saw no problem in that an institution outside of the world of sports would lead the investigation.

The Nevada athletic commission stressed its support for the three judges that gave the fight verdict. After being declared as the winner of the fight, Timothy Bradley agreed with the judges’ decision by mentioning that he did not felt Pacquiao’s punching power.

At the other end, Pacquiao was surprised by the decision of the judges and said that he did his best, but that perhaps his best was not enough. He simply thank God for the strength given to him that helped him finish the fight physically unharmed, he said the best attitude a boxer can take is an attitude of respect and professionalism.

It is well know the tremendous sense of Faith that Pacquiao possesses. Besides being an athlete, he’s a member of the Philippine Congress and an active Catholic. Church authorities were grateful for the spiritual awakening of Pacquiao, noting that he should translate his defeat as a sign from God to retire from the boxing world and keep inspiring others to follow his example.

Bob Arum said he will prepare a rematch, and that the investigation will provide information to the boxing fans to enable them to trust the boxing authorities again.
