The Cuauhtemoc Training Ship, also known as the “Ambassador of the Seas”, will be docked at the port of San Diego from October 1 to October 4, ready to welcome daily visitors, according to Alicia Kerber, Consul General of Mexico in San Diego.
The Mexican community and the public at large are invited to tour the ships’ facilities. Admission is free and no reservation is required. People interested can get in line and will be welcomed by sailors, who will be in charge of letting them in.
Kerber recalled that the ship had an accident in New York, where the masts were damaged. These have already been repaired and, according to Kerber, the sailors are in good spirits and as ready as ever.
She highlighted the docked ship as a source of national pride, where visitors can experience Mexican naval training and hospitality firsthand. Through discipline and warmth, she noted, the crew represents Mexico abroad while serving the Mexican community in San Diego.
