They went to one of the restaurant’s branches, since the first restaurant is located when entering Tecate, normally visited when leaving the municipality. At the second location, though it has the name taqueria in its name, both Scott and Denise tried a very big burrito.
“Taquería Los Amigos” is known for its burritos, one of which is the “varied” type which is filled with already prepared, cooked, and ready-to-eat stews. One can also ask for another type of burrito: the ones Scott and Denise tried has fresh guacamole, carne asada, salsa, and is so big that they decided to cut it in half to share it.
Denise told Scott that in this and other taquerias, the tacos are served with radishes in order to balance the grease and the taste of the meat. The radish’s slightly spicy taste is accompanied by the acidity of the lemon and salt. They spoke about how wonderful fast food is in Mexico since this dish is made out of fresh, natural, and balanced ingredients.
