The excitement of sport fishing returns with full force to Baja California with the Dos Mares 2025 International Fishing Tournament, one of the most important events of the year in the state’s sports and tourism calendar. Organized by Bajs California’s Secretariat of Fishing and Aquaculture (Sepesca BC), this tournament promises to be an unforgettable experience for all lovers of the sea, fishing, and high-level competition.
With a prize pool of 1 million pesos ($52,270 USD), this tournament will take place in two locations of stunning marine wealth:
- June 13 and 14 at Bahía de los Ángeles in the Gulf of California.
- August 29 and 30 at the Port of Ensenada in the Pacific Ocean.
Both dates are independent, allowing participants to compete in one or both, depending on their strategy and availability.
Who Can Participate in the Dos Mares 2025 International Fishing Tournament?
The call is open to national and international teams, so a high turnout of sport fishers from all levels is expected. It’s worth noting that participants do not need to be professionals, just passionate about fishing, meet the established requirements, and be ready to enjoy the experience.
According to the announcement, teams may also be mixed, including women or children ages 8 to 14. Since prizes are awarded per team, if a team wins 1st to 3rd place, both the woman and the child participant will be recognized and receive an additional cash prize of 10,000 pesos ($523 USD) each.
How to Register?
To participate, you only need to complete an online registration, providing full details of all team members, information about your boat, and the corresponding permits. The registration fee is 8,000 pesos ($418 USD) per team (up to 6 people).
If you need to bring additional anglers on board, you may add up to 3 extra fishers, as long as your boat’s regulatory capacity allows it, for an additional fee: 1 extra angler – 1,000 pesos ($52 USD); 2 extra anglers -1,600 pesos ($84 USD); and 3 extra anglers – 2,200 pesos ($115 USD).
