Under Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s administration, nighttime enforcement operations have been carried out to remove unauthorized street vendors operating in Downtown Tijuana. The Department of Inspection and Verification, led by José Antonio Olivas Heredia, is overseeing these efforts to supervise and regulate informal commerce.

The department head explained that several vendors were removed during the operation for lacking the necessary permits to operate as street sellers.

He added that since Downtown Tijuana is a high-traffic area with large crowds, unauthorized street vending frequently resurges without proper permits.

The Municipal Government urges those interested in street vending to visit the Department of Inspection and Verification at City Hall to obtain a permit, allowing them to sell their goods in authorized locations across the city.
