Raychel Kolen, who shared this story on Facebook said that when she got in contact with Toyota to investigate the causes of this accident, the company simply responded: "We don’t recommend you cross the border with your car" and did not offer any additional help.


Kolen decided to share her experience to warn other Toyota buyers that the warranties established by the company don’t work on the Mexican side of the border. Fortunately, Mexican car insurance covered the losses, though it took three months for it to process.
The owner of this truck thanked the Baja Bound Insurance team for their “hard work” in working towards a settlement. This incident poses legitimate worries regarding warranties of cars sold in the United States that are driven in Mexico, which is very common in the border.
