The flavors of Baja California continue to impress. Case in point: influencer “El Arturito” recently returned to the northern region to dine at Wa Kumiai Tabita, a restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe, where he raved about the dishes.
Although the young entrepreneur admitted he wasn’t sure what to expect, he said his visit to the iconic establishment known for celebrating Kumiai indigenous culture turned out to be a wonderful surprise.
He began with a bean and panela cheese burrito wrapped in a freshly made flour tortilla and served with the house salsa. According to the influencer, the appetizer evoked nostalgic childhood memories, thanks to the beloved home-style flavors on the plate.
“Food is a warm embrace for the soul, grandmother’s northern flavors that fill your heart. And the service feels like visiting your grandma or aunt, where the guest list got out of hand, but they still do everything they can to ensure everyone leaves happy,” he said.
But the tasting didn’t stop there. He also tried a quesataco (cheese taco) filled with lamb barbacoa, one of the restaurant’s signature dishes with a cowboy twist, as well as an empanada. He praised the dough’s flavor, and his spontaneous reaction made it clear he found it absolutely delightful.
As noted earlier, however, the barbacoa was the main reason for his visit. He even went on to make another burrito with it, reiterating how delicious it was. Finally, he sampled the restaurant’s machaca yet another hit on the menu.
While thoroughly impressed by the dishes, he did advise future diners to come with plenty of patience, noting that the process is quite slow. Still, he suggested that this might be exactly what makes the experience so special and confirmed that he would definitely return.
