Last year the company Zynga, who develops virtual games like Farmville, Bubble ChefVulle and Safari, saw its growth expectations fail after an increase of $14 million and only receiving two. Soon after the company evaluated their strategy, which for them the answer was simple: focus on the development of games for tablets and other mobile devices.

Steve Chiang, who is the president of Zynya, in an interview with Games Industry explained more in regards to this new plan, where various aspects were analyzed like the percentage of income that goes towards games on mobile devices, and other details about the future of virtual games.

Many of the games developed by Zynga have been implemented by Facebook and thanks to its tremendous growth, now in the transition to mobile device versions. Chiang said that they currently have more than 72 million players per month between its various titles.

Each of the new ideas is born when the developers are inspired and strive to build the best experience for the audience. Another goal of the company is to develop games that will popular enough to have them become almost like series. The company's focus has also turned into identifying their "type of player" in order to produce these games.

Steve Chiang

For Steve Chiang, tablets are the new platform in the future of gaming, and added that he uses his before bedtime and when he wakes up. He said that with a tablet one can appreciate better the details of each game. Now that Zynga's games will migrate to a different platform, the company expects that video game players will welcome this new change.

Compared to traditional platforms like consoles, Chiang said that when playing on a tablet, consumers are more comfortable because the games could be played in short periods of time, even within minutes instead of sitting around with a console for hours.

Steve Chiang's opinion is that more and more companies are focusing on mobile gaming, which will not only increase competition, but also force them to develop a better gaming experience for the consumers and increasing their quality of the product.
