Discover the wonders of the universe at the San Diego Astronomy Association’s free “Star Parties.” These events bring together the beauty of nature and the thrill of stargazing, making them a perfect outing for the whole family.
The next Star Party takes place on Saturday, September 13, at Oakoasis County Preserve (12620 Wildcat Canyon Rd, Lakeside).

The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with a guided nature walk, giving visitors the chance to explore the preserve before nightfall. As the sky darkens, astronomers from the Association will set up telescopes and lead guests through views of planets, constellations, and other deep-sky wonders.
Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight for the nature walk, but please switch it off near the telescope stations to protect night vision. Parking is free but limited, so arriving early is advised. In case of questionable weather, call Ranger Kyle at 858-699-8668 to confirm. The group will meet at the preserve’s main parking lot.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the cosmos under San Diego’s starry skies!
