High temperatures are on the way! Meteored, a global weather information platform, has revealed through an interactive map that all municipalities in Baja California will face an intense heatwave from Wednesday, July 9, to Friday, July 11. During this period, it is crucial to stay informed and heed extreme heat warnings.

The hottest hours for Tijuana will be between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., with a maximum temperature of 28°C (82°F). Meanwhile, Tecate will reach highs of 36°C (97°F), while Mexicali will top the list as the hottest, soaring to 47°C (117°F).

It’s worth noting that this midsummer heatwave—the 40 hottest days of the year—arrived in Mexico on July 3 and will last until August 11. Authorities urge the public to monitor weather changes and follow official guidance.

When Will Tijuana Experience Its Hottest Day?

According to the weather platform, Thursday, July 10, will start off scorching for the border city. By around 10 a.m., temperatures will already feel like 27°C (81°F), rising to 30°C (86°F) later in the day. Wednesday and Thursday will be the most intense days in terms of heat.

Salvador Cervantes Hernández, Civil Protection State Coordinator, explained that these conditions are linked to a high-pressure system persisting over northwestern Mexico, resulting in clear skies, low humidity, and rising temperatures.

Some areas of Tijuana, such as “El Refugio,” could even surpass 30°C (86°F).
