In the heart of Oakland, California, there’s a place where fairy tales come to life: Fairyland, also known as the Land of the Fairies. This whimsical theme park was created in 1950 by Arthur Navlet, a nursery owner who dreamed of building a magical world made for children.
From treehouses and castles to pirate ships and giant pumpkins, Fairyland invites young minds to explore a landscape built for imagination. The park also features a hands-on petting zoo, enchanting puppet shows, and storybook gardens where visitors can wander among fairies, elves, and other fantastical creatures.

One of its most iconic attractions is the Fairyland Musical Farm Tunnel, a 118-foot-long journey filled with musical instruments, colorful murals, and play areas. Additionally, it boasts mechanical rides and games inspired by classic fairy tales.

Fairyland Is for Adults Too!
In 2025, Fairyland celebrates its 75th anniversary with the return of the iconic “Fairyland for Grownups” event. This exclusive party for guests 21+ invites attendees to dress in their best costumes and enjoy the park with a completely different Alice in Wonderland-inspired atmosphere.
The event includes cocktails, a DJ, live performances, food, and more. Tickets go on sale June 20. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit: https://fairyland.org/.
