TIJUANA – In what has become a familiar outcome, the Xolos dominated Sunday’s game against Los Tigres de Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León, but could not seal a win, tying once more 1-1.

Club Xoloitzcuintles dominated the first part of the game, against one of the leagues better teams. However, at minute 41, Lucas Lobos received a pass from Damian Álvarez and sent a shot past the Xolos’ goalie, Cirilo Saucedo. Tigres went ahead by one.

In the second half, the Xolos stepped up their game.

Fernando Arce attempted two hard shots against Tigres goalie, Enrique Palos, but was unsuccessful. At minute 75 Leandro Augusto took a shot next to the left goal, but Palos stopped it.

The Xolos continued to press. Raúl Enriquez passed to Javier Gandolfi, who became the hero of the afternoon when he scored against Tigres, tying the game at minute 88.

That’s how the game ended. Tijuana’s record stands at 1-5-5, still in 17th place out of 18 teams in the Apertura tournament, in danger of being relegated to the minor leagues.

The Xolos next play Saturday afternoon against Atlas in Jalisco.
