Fernando Castro Trenti may have swallowed a bitter pill by losing the State governor elections in Baja California, but now he will have the opportunity to represent Mexico as an Ambassador in the nation of Argentina, if the Mexican senate approves the appointment.
Once the confirmation has been given, Fernando Castro Trenti will occupy the Mexican embassy in Argentina. The official announcement will be given later today and if fully approved, Castro Trenti will replace Francisco del Rio, who has been fulfilling the role of Mexican ambassador in Argentina since 2009.
Patricia Vaca Narvaja, the Argentinian ambassador in Mexico, was the one who confirmed Fernando Castro Trenti would be filling the position. According to the newspaper "24 horas" ,President Enrique Peña Nieto was the one who made the proposal to the Argentinian government led by President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, and it was immediately approved.
The news spread like wildfire late last night among local and national media, which is why it is expected that the Mexican Senate will have a decision regarding the appointment by the end of the day.
