Besides also being a cultural promoter and organizer, Fernando López Mateos was also the General Director of LOFT, a creative workspace, and Tropa de Dédalo, a theater company founded in 1997 in Tijuana, Baja California dedicated to people with talent in singing, dancing, design, plastic arts, writing, literature, music, architecture, among other artistic endeavors.
It should be noted that López Mateos was also a professor at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California where he was a renowned mentor to several generations of students.

After his passing, many students offered their condolences on social media and remembered how much their teacher had meant for them regarding their formation.
His legacy will continue through the hundreds of people he touched on the workspaces he created, due to his passion for theater and the arts. Rest in peace, Fernando López Mateos: actor, playwright, mentor, and cultural manager.
