Fidel Castro reappeared in public to welcome Venezuelan ex-vice president Elias Jaua to Cuba. This move was to clear up any rumors that the ex-leader of Cuba is in a delicate state of health.
Jaua showed a picture to the media of his visit, in which in the picture it shows Fidel Castro.
"Yes, he was here yesterday, the same old Fidel with his beard and pink cheeks. He was fine," said Jaua to Reuters News Agency.
Jaua said that Castro will publish something regarding his visit to Cuba, and that it will include photos.
Besides the Venezuelan official, the director of the hotel where he Jaua was staying, Antonio Martinez said that he also saw Fidel Castro, and heard him speak about many things and was constantly smiling.
Castro has not been seen in public since March when he greeted Pope Benedict XVI, and since he left the Cuban presidency has published columns in the national press, also his accounts in social networks specifically Twitter has remained active, but recently has only posted links to the press.
