Today, November 25, 2020, the U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana informs citizens that local authorities have implemented additional inspections for travelers at the ports of entry: Mexicali and Los Algodones. This is in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
It is recommended that the population continue with the preventive measures against COVID-19 which are the following:
– Mandatory use of face mask
– Symptom detection
– Temperature measurement
– Maximum 2 persons per vehicle
– And that the purpose of the trip is considered essential
The authorities encourage U.S. citizens to comply with the instructions of Mexican authorities or risk fines ranging from $3,475 pesos to $17,376 pesos.
They detail that failure to comply could result in a fine or arrest.
