The Tijuana Xolos could not keep up the momentum of the last few weeks and fell Friday night 1-0 to Pachuca in a road game.
The Xolos, which avoided relegation last week, arrived to the match looking to rack up points to help them reach the playoffs. Despite the loss, the team still has a chance to reach the post season.
The Tuzos scored the nights only goal at minute 62, when the Xolos goalkeeper, Cirilo Saucedo, dropped a ball he stopped, giving Javier Muñoz Mustafá the perfect opportunity to push it into the net.
Tijuana drops to seventh position in the general standings, with 20 points, while Pachuca climbed a rung, to the sixth spot, with 21 points.
The Xolos return next week to Caliente Stadium, where they will host Potros de Hierro del Atlante, a game Tijuana needs to win to keep its playoffs hopes alive.
