Four economic development boards of Baja California and San Diego’s chamber of commerce sign an agreement to strengthen the mega region

In order to join efforts to strengthen the Mega Region, last June, the presidents of the Economic Development Boards from Tijuana, Tecate, Rosarito and Ensenada signed a collaboration agreement with San Diego's Regional Chamber of Commerce, presided by Jerry Sanders.



The agreement is based on three guiding principles: infrastructure, education and economic development, and also contemplates coordination between police forces. To follow up on the agreements' objectives; an activity timetable for the three guiding principles has been set.

Tijuana's president of the Economic Development Board (CDT), Humberto Inzunza Fonseca, explained that one of the goals is to obtain support from the governments headed by the presidents Barack Obama and Enrique Pena Nieto, above all, with topics regarding the border crossings, especially the construction of the Otay 2 crossing. "There are federal funds, in Mexico and the United States, which can be used in infrastructure and border crossings, provided that both countries work together," added Inzunza Fonseca.
