A free public ice rink officially opened this Friday on the courtyard of the “To the Mother” monument, adjacent to the Tijuana City Hall, offering festive winter recreation through January 6, 2026.
The inauguration drew local families eager to be among the first to glide across the ice. Laughter and cheers filled the air as both children and adults navigated the rink.

Families ate pizza while laughing as they watched children and adults skate on the ice. Even though some fell, they always got back up to continue playing.
The rink will be open daily from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM. More than 180 pairs of skates will be available for all ages, along with supportive walkers shaped like teddy bears, penguins, and reindeer to help beginners. Helmets will also be provided free of charge to ensure safety.
Session times on the ice will be managed by the private company that installed the temporary structure, with careful attention paid to capacity limits to ensure a positive experience for all visitors.

All adult visitors must sign a liability waiver upon entry. Parents or guardians accompanying minors must sign a waiver on behalf of the child as well.
City officials also announced that a second free ice rink will open soon at Morales Park. That installation will operate through January 10.
