This Friday marked the official inauguration of the 8th edition of Expo Mueble (Furniture Expo) Baja California 2025, the most important furniture industry exhibition in northwestern Mexico, held at the Baja California Center in Playas de Rosarito.
Representing Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Rosarito, the Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism, Irán Leonardo Verdugo, attended the opening ceremony and stressed the importance of such events to boost the region’s economic, tourism, and business development.
“Events like Expo Mueble position Rosarito as a key destination for business and meetings tourism. We are proud to welcome national and international exhibitors, buyers, and investors who see our city as an ideal space for growth,” Verdugo said.
Expo Mueble 2025 brings together over 80 national and international exhibitors and is aimed at professionals in design, interior decoration, hospitality, architecture, and the general public interested in the latest industry trends.
This year, Playas de Rosarito features a special pavilion dedicated to local furniture makers and artisans from the Rosarito Furniture and Accessories Manufacturers Association (AFAMARO), who are showcasing their products across 8 stands to promote and market their work, reflecting the creativity, quality, and talent of the region.
During his speech, Verdugo highlighted that Playas de Rosarito is home to 474 manufacturing companies, collectively generating over 6,652 direct jobs. Of these, the furniture industry accounts for 1/3 of employment, with 89 registered furniture businesses providing 2,342 direct jobs in the municipality.
Lastly, the official extended an invitation to Baja Californians and fellow citizens living in the U.S. to visit, invest, and experience what Playas de Rosarito has to offer: a vibrant, hospitable destination with great opportunities, ideal for family enjoyment, business, and participation in the development of this binational and busy city.
The exhibition will remain open to the public from June 27 to 29, offering an ideal platform for forging strategic alliances, exploring new business opportunities, and discovering cutting-edge furniture innovations firsthand.
