Golden Age Festival Celebrates Over 800 Seniors in Rosarito

The event featured live music, a classic car exhibition, spaces for local entrepreneurs, and much more.

With a celebration dedicated to honoring the wisdom, legacy, and joy of those who are the heart and memory of our community, the Playas de Rosarito City Hall led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, celebrated more than 850 senior adults as part of the Golden Age Festival.

The festival brought together clubs and communities from Rosarito and included artistic performances, live music, a classic car exhibition, entrepreneurial showcases, and a vibrant and festive atmosphere. One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the crowning of the King and Queen of Seniors, a contest that symbolizes the vitality and unwavering spirit of those who have given so much throughout their lives.

In her address, the mayor stated:

“Our seniors are the roots that sustain us, the example that guides us, and the strength that inspires us. Grandparents don’t go out of style; they become classics. That’s why we wanted to celebrate them the way they deserve: with music, joy, and recognition that comes straight from the heart.”

She also highlighted that, thanks to support from the Mexican Government, seniors are receiving the Pensión para el Bienestar (Well-Being Pension), a constitutional right that increases each year as a gesture of justice for their lifetime of work.

The Golden Age Festival reaffirms the municipal government’s commitment to the inclusion and well-being of seniors, celebrating their experience and their essential role in building a stronger community.
