Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda unveiled the 2025 Call for Program Proposals to Boost Creative Industries, an initiative that will provide financial support to projects led by creative talents in the state and promote economic and cultural development in Baja California.
“Our government is committed to those who turn talent, innovation, and culture into a means of generating well-being. Creative industries are a growing economic force and deserve full institutional support to continue expanding, formalizing, and reaching new heights,” the governor said.

The program, coordinated by the state’s Department of Economy and Innovation, is designed to support projects in industries such as video games, audiovisual production, fashion, music, gastronomy, craft beverages, design, and digital platforms, among others, and seeks to strengthen the structure of these initiatives, expand their reach, and enhance their impact.
The Deputy Secretary of Creative Industries, Abelardo Vázquez Ramos, emphasized that this call represents a major step in recognizing creators as key drivers of Baja California’s economic development:
“For the first time, we are directing public resources in a structured manner toward the creative economy, understanding that behind every project lies a vision, a community, and transformative potential. This program aims to provide real tools so that creatives can solidify their ideas and take them to the next level,” he explained.

To qualify for the program, applicants must be of legal age, reside in Baja California, and be registered with SAT under an economic activity linked to one of the creative sectors. Required documents include an application letter, official ID, proof of address, tax status certificate, project description, budget breakdown, and sworn statements of truthfulness.
Applications will be accepted in person at the offices of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation in the municipalities of Mexicali, Tijuana, Ensenada, Tecate, Playas de Rosarito, San Felipe, and San Quintín, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on business days. The deadline for submissions is November 30 or until funds are exhausted.
Financial support will range from 10,000 to 100,000 pesos, depending on the characteristics of the proposed creative project. Full details are available on the Secretariat’s official website: https://www.bajacalifornia.gob.mx/sei/Servicios/IndustriasCreativas.
Lastly, Governor Marina del Pilar reiterated that her administration will continue to promote local talent as a pathway to progress with identity, inclusion, and prosperity.
