Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda is urging families across the state to register for the federal Rita Cetina Gutiérrez Scholarship, designed to ensure no student misses out on secondary education due to financial constraints. The application window for the program closes on September 30.

The initiative represents a key component of the administration’s educational equity efforts, providing direct financial support to families with students entering public secondary schools. Governor Ávila Olmeda emphasized the program’s role in both supporting academic continuity and advancing social justice.
“Education is the engine that transforms the lives of young people. With this scholarship, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, we aim to ensure that no one is left out of secondary school due to a lack of resources. This is an act of social justice,” she stated.

Eligible families will receive 1,900 pesos every two months, starting in September, for having at least one student enrolled in public secondary school. An additional 700 pesos will be provided for each additional secondary student within the same household.
Prospective applicants must first register for Llave MX, the Mexican government’s digital identification system, available at no cost through the official website www.llave.gob.mx or at in-person service modules. One can register with one’s CURP, a mobile phone number, and an email address.

Once registered with Llave MX, parents or guardians must provide their personal information, CURP, mobile number, official ID, email, and a proof of address no older than three months. For the student, a CURP and proof of enrollment in a public secondary school are required. All information will be validated before moving forward with the application.
Interested applicants can find complete information and begin the process at www.becaritacetina.gob.mx.
