Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda oversaw the handover of 123 new marked patrol vehicles to the State Citizen Security Force this week, an initiative aimed at improving police response times and expanding surveillance coverage across the state.

Of the new fleet, 112 units were assigned to the State Security Force and 11 to the specialized Violet Squad. Governor Ávila Olmeda emphasized that this investment forms a key part of her administration’s broader security strategy, which has already contributed to a reported decline in crimes ranging from property offenses to high-impact incidents.

“This is part of a firm path and step we are taking to build a safer, more just, and dignified state for everyone. This delivery includes the Violet Squad, a unique and exemplary corporation that has been significantly strengthened and developed in just four years to combat gender-based violence,” she stated.

The governor linked the new patrols to her administration’s ongoing commitment to supporting officers, noting that providing modern equipment is as important as ensuring social security and benefits for police personnel and their families. She also thanked the Baja California Legislature for its budgetary backing and highlighted President Claudia Sheinbaum’s leadership in reinforcing coordination with federal forces.

“Every patrol car we launch today sends a clear message: no street, neighborhood, or community will be left alone against crime. It represents recognition of our police officers who risk their lives to guarantee security,” Governor Marina del Pilar said.

State Secretary of Citizen Security Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez confirmed that the new delivery brings the force’s total fleet close to 250 units, strengthening coverage in every municipality.

“The delivery of these patrol cars is a symbol of the effort of many good people who seek to create a safer environment for families. This effort is not just from the authorities, but from all citizens; it is a call for collaboration, empathy, and joint action,” the secretary concluded.
