The investment, exceeding 10 million pesos, aims to strengthen the operational reach of the Health Department and improve response times to sanitary risks to benefit all Baja Californians.

“We need to balance prevention, promotion, and early detection so that fewer people arrive at hospitals already sick,” Adrián Medina Amarillas, head of the state’s Health Department, stated.

The fleet will be deployed across multiple specialized areas. Five units equipped with fumigation technology will support vector control efforts to prevent insect-borne diseases. Another five will be used for health promotion campaigns, particularly during extreme heat seasons.

Four vehicles will strengthen sanitary surveillance, enabling more rigorous oversight of health-related establishments, products, and services, as well as environmental protection measures. Three units will focus on epidemiological surveillance to detect and contain outbreaks of diseases such as measles. One additional vehicle will support programs targeting cardiometabolic conditions, including Código Infarto and Casas del Corazón.
