Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda has underscored a series of enhanced economic and social programs aimed at improving the quality of life for seniors across the region. The initiatives are part of a coordinated state and federal effort to provide both immediate financial aid and long-term productive opportunities for seniors.

The announcement comes as the federal government, under President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, continues to accept registrations for the Pension for Older Adults and Women’s Well-Being until December 13. Eligible residents can locate registration modules and review requirements at gob.mx/bienestar, with support available Monday through Saturday.

At the state level, Baja California is bolstering its own assistance programs. These include direct economic support for seniors and the Productive Projects initiative, which provides resources and training to help families launch small-scale, income-generating activities.

Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, Secretary of Well-Being, explained that the goal is to deliver aid without bureaucratic barriers. He highlighted that the Productive Projects program not only supplements household income but also encourages social and economic engagement.

The state government reports that these programs enable consistent outreach across Baja California’s communities, ensuring that seniors receive personalized attention.

Governor Marina del Pilar noted that this on-the-ground presence allows officials to listen directly to seniors, understand their specific needs, and tailor support accordingly.

She also claimed that such support will remain a permanent fixture of the state’s social policy, reflecting a shared conviction that older adults are indispensable to Baja California’s social life.
