Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda led the “House-to-House” Vaccination Campaign in the Valle del Álamo neighborhood in Mexicali, prioritizing health as a fundamental right for the most vulnerable populations. This initiative is part of the 2025 National Vaccination Week, promoted by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
During the campaign, the state governor and staff from the Secretariat of Health visited homes in the community to provide medical and immunization services, starting with vaccine record checks and continuing with vaccinations for people of all ages.

“We are bringing health directly to homes through these vaccination campaigns, carried out by the federal government in coordination with state governments. Our goal is to ensure that seniors, who often struggle to reach health centers or cannot get vaccinated due to various conditions, receive their vaccines,” she stated.
She emphasized that, through these efforts, the state government goes directly into communities to carry out necessary surveys and ensure vaccination coverage across Baja California. “Here we are, working house by house, with our hearts and vaccines leading the way,” she said.

National Vaccination Week took place from April 26 to May 3, administering over 65,000 doses in Baja California. Due to the positive response and the commitment to expand coverage, the vaccination period was extended.
The State Secretary of Health, Adrián Medina Amarillas, highlighted that Governor Marina del Pilar is closely monitoring all actions to protect the most vulnerable populations, such as the Universal Vaccination Program currently being implemented across Baja California.

He added that special attention has been given to preventing diseases like measles and whooping cough, given the rise in cases in other regions of the country—though no recent outbreaks have been reported in Baja California.
“These house-to-house campaigns are very important for the community. People appreciate them, especially since many seniors or young children cannot easily visit health centers. By being close to them, we take the opportunity to protect entire families,” the secretary concluded.

During the campaign, pet vaccination stations were also set up, promoting the use of anti-tick collars. Additionally, mobile units offered free mammogram and audiometry services.
