Additionally, she announced the construction of a dedicated building for the Violet Squad in Mexicali this year, with an investment of nearly 56.5 million pesos for the acquisition, renovation, and equipping of the facility. This new headquarters will enhance the specialized unit’s capacity to provide comprehensive support and protection to women.

So far this year, the Violet Squad has apprehended 219 alleged aggressors, 177 of them for crimes related to domestic violence, and has provided protection to over 200 victims across various municipalities.

The governor highlighted President Claudia Sheinbaum’s support for Baja California, announcing the allocation of 2.93 million pesos from the Mexican federal government to strengthen the Women’s Justice Centers (CEJUM) in Tijuana and San Quintín. This federal support reflects a joint commitment to ensuring safe, dignified, and specialized care for Baja Californian women.

Regarding victim assistance, a total of 202 individuals have been supported, with 169 cases linked to domestic violence. This represents a 15% decrease in gender-based violence cases compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a positive impact of implemented measures.

Lastly, Governor Marina del Pilar announced the launch of the Economic Support Program for Children of Femicide Women Victims, fulfilling a measure under the Gender Violence Alert Against Women. The program provides bimonthly aid of 4,000 pesos, along with emotional support and legal counseling, coordinated by the State Executive Commission for Comprehensive Victim Assistance.

“We know no action can undo such a loss, but we can and must stand by them with respect, care, and justice,” the governor concluded.

Women in risky situations are encouraged to report crimes by calling 911, anonymously at 089, or directly to the Violet Line at (686) 837-3700, extension 11017.
