In order to promote regional entrepreneurship through financing, training, and guidance, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda presented the program "Capital Semilla 2024" in order to reduce inequality.

The state governor highlighted that entrepreneurship is an essential driving force for the inclusive and sustainable development of Baja California, which is why through the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, programs that strengthen the dreams of Baja Californians are supported.

"Through this program, we allocate 4.5 million pesos to cover people's initiatives, creativity, and productivity regarding starting their own micro businesses in order to benefit their families and their communities in order to decrease inequality gaps," she claimed.

The "Capital Semilla" program provides entrepreneurs the opportunity to receive up to 25,000 pesos for equipment and working capital. Marina del Pilar stressed that sectors who it need the most will be given priority with a special focus on job creation, self-employment, and transition to consolidated entrepreneurs with a gender, social inclusion, and economics perspective.

Michelle Guerrero Jaimes, Deupty Secretary of Economic Promotion of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, explained that this resource is available for natural persons residents of this state 18 years of age or older, with a maximum of 6 months since their business began, and who fulfill the eligibility criteria that can be read on the following website: https://www.bajacalifornia.gob.mx/sei/ReactivaBC.


Requests will be received and guidance will be offered at the window panes of the Directorate of Citizen Assistance located at “La Plazita" commercial center in Mexicali; Tijuana at Consorcio Tecnológico; Ensenada at the Government Center; Tecate at Defensores de Baja California No. 53, Colonia La Viñita; San Felipe at Mar de Cortés No. 614, La Placita; and San Quintín in Plaza Melina.

It should be noted that procedures are personal and free. The governor reaffirmed her commitment to boost entrepreneurship, making the necessary tools easier to access so that Baja Californians can build a future with dignity and hope.
