Baja Californian Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda announced the restoration of the Mexicali road access through Calzada del Sol avenue, benefiting more than 250,000 people that travel daily through this area.

The governor stated that the improvement of the Mexicali road access from Tijuana is a widely requested public work, even by cargo drivers.

She also stated that this infrastructure project is part of the RESPIRA program, in which Mexicali will invest over 1,2 billion pesos to transform the state capital’s mobility.

Marina del Pilar highlighted that adjustments were made that will make the public work last even longer: a long-term fortification of one of the city’s main road accesses.

For his part, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign (SIDURT), Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, explained that this public work also has a drainage system for a correct management of water flow.

He also stated that in cooperation with FIARUM, public solar-powered streetlights will be installed with batteries already set up. The approximate cost of this investment is around 34 million pesos.

Marina del Pilar celebrates National Nurse’s Day



Marina del Pilar, Baja Californian Governor, also led the celebration of National Nurse’s Day, where she highlighted the effort and conviction that all nurses have undertaken when dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

She also delivered acknowledgements to nurses of several different state and federal institutions, including military medicine, recognizing the value of their work in saving lives.

Accompanied by the Secretary of Health, José Adrián Medina Amarillas, Marina del Pilar emphasized that health personnel is at the frontlines in a battle against a virus that has become one of humanity’s greatest challenges.
