Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, Baja Californian Governor, made a visit to the Baseball League for Children and Young People facilities in Tijuana. During her visit, she revealed that she is looking for boys, girls, and teenagers who play sports to have a proper space where they can practice, which is why improvements will be carried out in this area.

In her speech in front of hundreds of baseball players and their families, the Governor highlighted that sport inspires generations and it is a drive for social change, which is why her administration has the will to bolster sport in all of its forms.

The Governor stated that several restorations were carried out in the facilities, as part of her investment outlines in favor of sport spaces in the seven municipalities of Baja California.

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda revealed that to ensure the community’s safety, surveillance cameras will be set up at C5, as well as a panic button to ease the nerves of all recurring attendees, especially parents.

Similar to this, the Governor highlighted that there is a strategy with the State Utilities Commission of Tijuana (CESPT) to guarantee water supply to the Baseball League, a direct action that will benefit girls, boys, teenagers, and their families.

For his part, Alberto Mejía, President of Tijuana’s Baseball League for Children and Young People, thanked Marina del Pilar for acting in the League’s benefit, after having promised to do so in 2021.

He also stated that the League consists of 168 teams, with the most important one being at a national level, with more than 2,000 players and a community of more than 4,000 people. Finally, the Governor spent some time with young baseball players and their families, and was invited to throw the first ball on this Sunday’s match.
