Greenpeace protesters hang from mexican skyscraper

Early this morning two members of the activist group "Green Peace" climbed the "Estela de Luz" building, located in Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City, in order to hang giant signs that are about 60 meters long in protest against genetically modified corn.[p]

So far there have been no reports of any incidents or accidents, but civil protection officers are present in the area to help and prevent any mishaps. The area has also has been closed off to any spectators.

The protest aims to draw the attention of the Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, and for him to not allow the farming and production of transgenic corn, which they consider this move by politicians as a genetic experiment that would be harmful to the population.

This is actually not the first time that members of this activist group hang from some sort of structure, in which just over a month, they also hung on the walls of the Senate to protest against this same issue.

Greenpeace Mexico has also announced through their Twitter account their support towards other members around the world with the hashtag #SoyActivistaDelMaiz.
