"Contaminating the subsoil with chemicals just to extract more carbon fuel? Sounds like a perfect plan for a villain to destroy the country, don't you think?" reads one of the spots from Greenpeace published via Facebook. In the ad, they depict the president as "Copetrón" a terrible villain that threatens to destroy Mexico's ecosystem. The President is often ridiculed for his tuft of hair (or "copete" in Spanish) and his arrogant demeanor, so the word "Copetron" is a play on that and "tron," which is a violent robot.

Greenpeace is against the reform, and the National Water Law, and other laws that the President has included in the "Green Package", which is why they have launched this ad campaign as an attempt to put a halt to the environmental devastation they believe will come as a result of these laws.
Silvia Diaz, spokesperson for the campaign says, "this is why we are calling on Mexican society to join the cause and allow us to become a single voice demanding that Peña Nieto guide his policy toward protecting natural resources. Let us wake up from this lethargy and act; Mexico needs us, Mexico needs heroes."
