Christmas is here and many of us have already decorated our houses with trees full of lights, where gifts will be waiting to be opened on Dec. 25 morning.

There’s definitely nothing wrong with lights and that cozy feeling you get from them, what’s wrong is the danger these beautiful glowing things represent if they’re not set up well, as well as other electronic devices used during this season.

That’s why the firemen team of Rosarito Beach released a series of advices to prevent accidents inside your house. Here they are:

Check all the electronic installations

Avoid connecting several artifacts or tree lights in one outlet

Disconnect the devices you’re not using

Don’t put the Christmas Tree near flammable objects

Have ducts suitable for the expulsion of gas by grills or gas heaters

These recommendations were made for Héctor Castelán, Director of the Fire Department, emphasizing that the most common incidents at this time are fires caused by electrical overload and carbon monoxide poisoning.
