California's primary elections have ended, and this is what resulted from over 17 million Californians casting their vote.



1. – Hillary Clinton Declares Herself Winner

After taking over 56% of the votes in California and taking for a fact that she has enough delegate to earn the nomination, Hillary Clinton declared herself the first Democrat woman to win a presidential candidacy.



2. – Bernie Sanders is still campaigning

Despite what the Super Tuesday results might say, Bernie Sanders announced in Santa Monica that he won't throw in the towel just yet. "I'll keep up the fight next Tuesday with the last primary in Washington DC. Then we'll take it to Philadelphia", he said.



3. – Voter turnout was higher than four years ago

It is estimated that, out of the millions of registered voters in this primary, at least 5 million mailed their vote, and another 3 million were present at the polling stations.



California's electoral authorities pointed that this year saw a surge in citizen participation, surpassing 2012's 31% but not 2008's 57%.



4. – Faulconer is reelected

It was confirmed that Kevin Faulconer won't be contending on the November elections, because he won over 60% of the votes yesterday, beating independent Lori Saldaña and Democrat Ed Harris.



5. – Kamala vs. Loretta

What started as a suspicion that arose from California polls was confirmed when the primaries in the state when Kamala Harris'40% was surpassed by Loretta Sanchez's 56%. Both Women will continue their campaign until November, when one of them will be elected into the Senate.
