San Diego is set to host a unique holiday cinema experience this season as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York comes to life on the big screen, accompanied by a full live orchestra.
On Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., Home Alone 2 in Concert will take center stage at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, one of San Diego’s premier outdoor venues.
The San Diego Symphony, directed by conductor Bruce Kiesling, will be performing John Williams’ score live.
A Holiday Classic Reimagined Live
This special presentation gives audiences a fresh way to experience the film, which follows young Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin), who mistakenly boards a flight to New York City while his family heads to Florida for Christmas.
With his father’s credit card, Kevin checks into the luxurious Plaza Hotel before crossing paths once again with the “Sticky Bandits” (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).
Williams’ score plays a crucial role in bringing the story to life, ranging from heartwarming holiday melodies, whimsical themes, and suspense-filled cues that match Kevin’s iconic booby traps.
