Just a few hours ago, the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez stated that he was free of cancer and ready to fully join the current electoral campaign looking for his third reelection.

A month ago an anonymous source stated that the treatment Hugo Chávez received in Cuba had not been successful and that he had but a few months left, also that Chávez could not even attend the publication of the recent elections’ results.

The campaign started on July 01 and will last 3 months. His opponent, Henrique Capriles of the Justice First Humanist Center, celebrated the fact that the Venezuelan president was healthy but he clarified that he owed the Venezuelan people a broader disclosure about the illness that was affecting him.

Some political analysts think that Capriles is the strongest rival in Venezuela during the 10 last years. Next elections will be on October 07.

Chávez took the Venezuelan presidential office back in 1999 and has been reelected during the 2001 – 2007 and 2007 – 2013 periods.
