Over the past few days, protests and demonstrations have spread across California in response to the latest raids carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Among those detained are not only undocumented migrants but also activists who have spoken out against the government’s actions.
ICE agent caught on video slapping handcuffed activist in California
A video published on the social media pages of Union del Barrio, an organization that has been providing continuous updates on immigration enforcement across the state, captures the harsh behavior of ICE agents toward protesters and community members.
The footage shows a uniformed agent slapping a handcuffed activist who is being restrained by another agent, rendering him unable to defend himself from the sudden and forceful strike.

The video has triggered strong reactions online, with many users condemning the officers’ conduct and calling it evidence of escalating aggression toward protesters.
In light of the video, Union del Barrio is urging both Latino communities and U.S. citizens to voice their concerns and push back against they describe as blatant abuses.
