Authorities seized roughly 66 pounds of fireworks and explosives during a routine inspection at a street market stall in the Cañadas del Florido neighborhood of Tijuana.
The materials were found hidden under a table by agents from the city’s Inspection and Verification Department while they were checking vendors in the La Presa Este delegation. Officials removed the items and filed a report at the scene.

The Tijuana government prohibits the sale, storage and use of fireworks — including rockets, firecrackers and other pyrotechnics — citing risks to public safety, property and animals, which are often distressed by loud explosions.
