The study that the city council is conducting in collaboration with the Economists Association of Tijuana is already in the last stage; so according to the results of this study, the increase to public transport in Tijuana would be determined for the next month.
This increase would be voted in the next meeting to be held in May, said the president of the Commission of Roads and Transportation, Arnulfo Guerrero León of the Tijuana City Council.
Although this study has yet to be delivered to the transit companies, they've gone ahead with illegal increases in their fares since the beginning of the year. This study will be delivered next week, where the distances covered by the routes were also considered, as well as type of topography, among others, of the 138 routes in Tijuana.
The next step, once the study is completed, would be the discussion in the commission to later upload it in the next meeting of council that could be at the end of May, said the councilman.
Some public transport drivers might be part of this commission and will know firsthand the proposal of the increase, which has taken time to recognize that for ten years there, was no analysis of proposal for increase per route.
