We had the opportunity of chatting with one of the series writers, Mexican-American caricaturist, Lalo Alcaraz, who gave us a few details regarding this new animation.
According to Alcaraz, Bordertown won't just be about stereotypes, but it will also seek to give an authenticity to the Latin audience that other programs haven't.
He mentioned that one of Ernesto González' sons was originally named Javier, but he suggested they changed it to 'Pepito', that way every Mexican would quickly identify him as the same Pepito from common Mexican jokes.
The show will have an original touch, given that is not seeking to copy or recreate Family Guy. As part of the classic humor we are used to seeing, here we will find sexual jokes as well as jokes regarding Mexican culture. Alcaraz assured that Bordertown's main goal is to explore Mexican-American cultures, the Mexican and the American ('gringa').
Bordertown will include Lalo Alcaraz' work, as he explained, more specifically in the script area. Many episodes will have political content and controversial subjects such as the appearance of Pope Francis.

The first season of Bordertown will premiere this fall with 13 episodes.
