More than 5,000 residents packed the Mariano Matamoros Sports Complex on Saturday as Ismael Burgueño Ruiz headlined the first Public Assembly “In Defense of the Transformation and National Sovereignty,” an event that showcased growing public backing for the Fourth Transformation project in Baja California.
Burgueño Ruiz highlighted key policy achievements that have resonated with local families, including pension programs for senior citizens, educational scholarships for students, and major infrastructure undertakings such as the Tijuana Elevated Viaduct, all of which are tangible improvements in people’s daily lives.
He also stated that maintaining an open dialogue with the community is essential for identifying pressing needs and shaping responsive public policy. Reiterating the guiding principle of “The people first, the people second, and the people always,” he underscored that being close to the people remains a foundational element in advancing the transformation agenda.
The sheer scale of the event positioned it as one of the most significant displays of political and civic participation witnessed in the state to date. Beyond showcasing achievements across various levels of government, the assembly served as a platform for reaffirming the movement’s support among the people.
