Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, candidate for the Coordination in Defense of Transformation and National Sovereignty, convened with local residents, party militants, and supporters in Ensenada’s Gómez Morín neighborhood on Saturday. The rally served both to showcase the progress of the Fourth Transformation (4T) and to maintain an open channel of direct communication with the community.
During the informational assembly, Burgueño underscored the widespread enthusiasm he has observed for the Morena party throughout his travels across Baja California, as well as the public’s growing recognition of federal government initiatives.
“We engage directly with citizens, and the reception to Morena has been overwhelmingly positive. There is genuine empathy and connection, but more importantly, there is clear acknowledgment of the federal policies being implemented,” Ismael Burgueño said.
He emphasized that social programs and several government efforts launched under former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador have continued under President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, ensuring the preservation of short-, medium-, and long-term projects that deliver tangible benefits to local communities.
Addressing the ongoing internal selection process in Morena in Baja California, Ismael Burgueño stressed that assemblies of this nature should prioritize movement-building among people.
“Our focus here must be on strengthening the Fourth Transformation project, closing ranks, and working together,” he said.
He urged all participants to champion constructive and positive messaging, placing unity and shared goals ahead of individual ambitions.
Burgueño, currently on leave as mayor of Tijuana, noted that his visits across the state’s municipalities have reaffirmed the deep connection many citizens feel with Morena and its governance. He argued that such widespread support carries with it an obligation to sustain grassroots engagement, keeping themselves close to the people, and uphold the founding principles of the movement.
Closing his remarks from the Gómez Morín neighborhood, Ismael Burgueño reiterated that fortifying internal unity and rallying behind the national vision led by President Claudia Sheinbaum will remain central to his message throughout this phase in Baja California.
