On Sunday a 4 year old boy shot another 11 year old in the neck, while playing with a gun in Lake City, Florida, according to the local media.
Jarvan Jackson, 11, was rushed to a hospital in the nearby city of Gainesville, where he died of his wounds in the neck.
This incident occurred last Sunday and police are now investigating how the child had access to a firearm, according to the online newspaper The Gainesville.
In the apartment where the incident occurred, according to Action News, there were at that time at least six children and one adult.
This new incident involving guns and minors comes now only weeks after another three year old from Tampa, Florida, accidentally shot and killed himself.
Recently, another 13 year old shot his 6 year old sister in the chest, also while playing with a gun.
According to data released by Press TV, an average of eight children and adolescents under the age of 20 die every day in the U.S. by firearms.
In 2010 a total of 180 kids under the age of eleven died from firearms, and in 2011- according to the FBI-8,583 people died in the U.S. by gunshots.
