LEGOLAND California Resort is gearing up for one of its most ambitious projects yet with the announcement of a new themed expansion, set to open in early 2026.
Located in north San Diego County, this immersive new zone will be space-inspired, featuring the most advanced technology in the park’s history and thrilling attractions that will make you feel out of this world.

An Experience That Will Make You Reach for the Stars
Construction is already underway, right across from the Driving School in Fun Town. The design is being handled by Merlin Magic Making, the global creative team behind many of Merlin Entertainments’ iconic projects.
Though the official name of the new area has yet to be revealed, it has been confirmed that access will be included with general park admission and all annual passes.
The main ride will be a brand-new roller coaster that promises an exhilarating family adventure through an uncharted galaxy. Additionally, two more space-themed attractions will be included: the “Junior Astronaut Training Zone” and a themed restaurant. More details are expected to be announced as the opening date approaches.

New Themed Area Opens in 2026
This expansion is part of a $90 million investment in LEGOLAND California, marking the park’s largest expansion yet. It also coincides with the conclusion of the latest Nike and LEGO Play Arena on August 10 and the return of the LEGO World Parade as part of the summer Block Party celebrations.
Guests who purchase annual passes now will receive access to the new area when it opens in 2026, along with entry to popular seasonal events like the Brick-or-Treat Halloween Monster Party and Holidays at LEGOLAND.
LEGOLAND California Resort is located at One Legoland Drive in Carlsbad, North San Diego County. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit legoland.com/california.
