In the last week of February, lemon was one of the basic products that went up in price to 20 pesos, compared to the previous week; while the other foods showed mixed variations in some markets of the country.
In Tijuana, Baja California, the markets maintained the same prices as last week in products such as: egg, avocado, sugar, tomato, lemon and onion, which were offered in 75, 63, 30, 35, 30, and 24 pesos the kilo, in that order.
The Federal Consumer Attorney (Profeco) reported that in self-service stores the bag with two kilos of sugar was sold at 49.20 pesos; while the kilo of avocado, lemon and onion were offered in 41.39, 30.34 and 15.35 pesos, in that order. Tomato lowered the price to 6.87 pesos.
