One of the indicators that Baja California has not changed its color from red to orange is the number of active cases concentrated in the region.

However, according to Tuesday's report by the head of the Health Secretariat, Alonso Pérez Rico, these were below one thousand on Tuesday totaling 959. Of this total, 435 are located in Tijuana, 254 in Mexicali, 142 in Ensenada, 57 in San Quintin, 35 in Rosarito, 19 in Tecate and 17 in San Felipe.

In addition, 19 new deaths and 25 new cases of COVID-19 were registered overnight, which in comparison with past weeks have also shown a decrease in the last few days.

Thus, so far the number of coronavirus infections that have occurred in the entity since the beginning of the pandemic is 40 thousand 950, while the unfortunate accumulated deaths are 6 thousand 753.

Due to this, and with the closing of the week's indicators today, Pérez Rico commented that the state of Baja California will be analyzed, to see which activities will increase or decrease their capacity, and how they will continue for the following week.

According to the Secretary, the number of intubated patients is also decreasing, as well as the number of hospitalizations, achieving a current hospital occupancy rate of 47% in the state. Added to this, the number of times the virus is being transmitted in the region is 0.76.
