At the international General Ignacio Zaragoza port of entry, at the border between Brownsville, Texas and Matamoros, Tamaulipas, users recorded a fight between a woman against two people that were trying to deliberately invade a lane and avoid the long line.
The video shows the exact moment where a line cutter who was driving a gray Nissan Altima obstructs the right lane to cut in line, forcing a couple driving a red KIA to move. Moments later, the KIA driver throws a bottle of water, gets out of the car, and starts to fight. The KIA passenger instead of separating both people gets involved in the conflict. They knock over a metal fence while the cars around them watch the conflict and then go around them and continue their way towards Mexico. That is how this video ends.
Borders crossings have been laboratories to discover how far people’s calmness can be pushed as they are forced to stay immobile for two to three hours, while being bothered by the noise of car engines, hunger, and tiredness. However, anything can disturb this peace such as line cutters.
In the last few days, hundreds of citizens of the US-Mexico border have protested against those who want to cut in line without waiting. This has caused fights, crashes, and even people being run over.
