Local, state, and federal authorities met this week in Playas de Rosarito to review ongoing security efforts and coordinate responses to recent incidents affecting the city.

During the meeting, officials highlighted the value of working across agencies, saying the collaboration has helped speed up responses, maintain a stronger presence on the streets, and support crime prevention efforts in different neighborhoods.

Authorities also discussed joint operations involving federal and state forces, including a coordinated response to a fuel pipeline leak operated by Mexico’s state oil company, Pemex. Officials said the priority during the incident was keeping nearby residents safe and addressing the situation quickly.

The National Guard reported the arrest of one person on drug-related charges and said patrols remain active in areas considered higher risk as part of ongoing deterrence efforts.

State prosecutors said additional arrests were made in connection with theft, property damage, and other crimes, along with progress on investigations involving drug dealing, illegal weapons, outstanding arrest warrants, and the recovery of stolen vehicles.

Officials also reviewed recent activity from the C5 emergency coordination center, covering late January through early February, and updates from municipal police on arrests, vehicle recoveries, and emergency calls.

Police said preventive patrols continue in northern neighborhoods, commercial corridors, school zones, pedestrian bridges, major roadways, and along Rosarito’s boundary with Tijuana. Community outreach and neighborhood safety programs are also ongoing.

Mayor Rocío Adame thanked participating agencies and said coordination has been key to improving safety conditions in the city.

“Public safety is built every day through teamwork and staying connected to the community,” Adame said. “That’s how we keep moving forward in Rosarito.”

City officials said coordination efforts will continue as part of broader work to keep the city safer for residents.
