Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante announced that storm drainage has finally been installed in the Ampliación Solidaridad Social neighborhood, ending a wait that stretched more than 30 years.
During a site visit, Bustamante said the project includes 589 meters of new drainage pipes across six blocks, with an investment of more than 2.8 million pesos (about $165,000). The work is designed to prevent flooding through the construction of storm drains and access wells.

City officials say the project will also pave the way for future street paving in the area, improving long-term conditions for residents.
